I joined the Department of Geological Sciences at the University of Florida in fall 2018 as an Assistant Professor of planetary geochemistry. I use a variety of techniques, including high-pressure and -temperature experiments, studies of planetary samples, and stable isotope geochemistry to learn about how planets separate into a core, mantle, and crust, and that differentiation affects the magmatic evolution of planets.

Daniel joined the Planetary Geochemistry group in August 2019 after doing an undergraduate thesis on the 2015 eruption of the Calbuco volcano in Chile. For his MSc, he's working on the origin and inter-sample relationships between lunar plutonic crustal rocks from Apollo 17 and what those relationships mean for the age of the lunar crust.

Interested in Joining the Team?
I'm looking for motivated MSc and PhD students interested in planetary science, igneous petrology, and isotope geochemistry to join the team! The department has a great group of graduate students, we offer a great graduate student salary, and Gainesville is a great place to live. If you're interested in joining my group, email me with your CV and tell me a little bit about what you're interested in and why you think we might be a good fit. The deadline for grad student applications is Jan. 15th 2020, so be sure to contact me well ahead of time. Click here for information on the UF Geology graduate program and how to apply.
